Ludhiana, February 22, 2014: Hero group promoted BML Munjal University organised its first ever Parent-Faculty Workshop as part of their outreach programme to familiarise parents about the right courses and career options available for their children at BCM School, Ludhiana today.
Parents of students studying in 12th standard and MBA aspirants attended this informative session where queries and every step of the admission process was explained by the faculty and representatives of the BML Munjal University. Dr. Prem Kumar, Distinguished Professor, Dr. Amardeep Kahlon (Dean Academics), Dr. Amitav Babi Mitra (Dean School of Engineering and Technology) along with other faculty member met the parents and answered their questions ranging from fee structure to admission process, essay based tests and internship opportunities.
BMU faculty and representatives helped parents with their queries on how the university is structured, what students can expect leading up to the stages for the admissions process.
During the event Akshay Munjal, Director, BML Munjal University said, “This is the first time that we have arranged for one-one interaction meetings between the faculty of BML Munjal University and the parents of class 12th students. We will be organizing similar events across cities to guide parents and students about the right courses and innovative learning that BMU will offer”.
Dr. Prem Kumar, Distinguished Professor explained, “The focus of the University would be practice-oriented education and to foster employability and a range of life skills among students. The university will nurture the spirit of enquiry, creativity, problem solving and innovation. The multi-disciplinary, industry-oriented course curriculum and innovative pedagogy will promote hands-on and cross disciplinary learning.”
The School of Engineering & Technology will offer 360 seats for its BTech programme. The School of Management will offer 60 seats each for its MBA and BBA programmes. Also, the School of Commerce will offer 60 seats for its B Com (Hons) programme. Keeping the international grading and point systems in mind, BMU will also follow multi-dimensional evaluation process to assess an applicant’s suitability for the courses offered by the university. These include ranking in government-conducted exams, class 12 & class 10 marks, essays, recommendation letters, test of aptitude and attitude and test of hands-on capability.
