Blood donation camp organized at DAV College

Jalandhar, October 5, 2019: A one-day blood donation camp was organized in collaboration with the PAHAL NGO, Jalandhar and jointly by DAV College's NSS, NCC Unit, Red Ribbon Club, NCC Youth Service.

The work of collecting blood at this camp was done by Head of Blood Bank of Civil Hospital BTO Dr.Gagandeep Singh and his entire team. 62 units of blood were collected on this occasion.

Dr.Gurvinder Kaur Chawla (Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar) was present as the Chief Guest at this blood donation camp. Kirpal Jhalli (District Mass Media Officer) also accompanied him who was welcomed by College Principal Dr.S.K. Arora, Prof.S.K.Midda,Dr.Sameer Sharma by offering a panicle.

On this occasion, Chief Guest Dr.Gurvinder Kaur Chawla said that donating blood is very virtuous. Donating blood can give someone a new life. He said that we should make more and more people aware about blood donation.

On this occasion, Principal of the college Dr.S.K.Arora inspired everyone and said that blood donation is seen as biggest charity. There are frequent accidents in the country and the world. Therefore, the blood collected through blood doners is made available in the hospitals, due to which the accident patient gets blood timely. A single drop of blood can be lifesaver for anyone.

Prof.S.K Midda, Coordinator NSS greeted the students for the blood donation and encouraged them to continue doing the same for the future. He told that every 18-year-old adult who is perfectly healthy, can donate blood. He described blood donation as the biggest charity.

The enthusiasm of the students was seen in this blood donation camp. Many students donated blood for the first time. Many girl students pledged to donate blood for the needy. The camp had arranged fruit, coffee and biscuits for the blood donors.

On this occasion, Prof. S.K Midda Coordinator NSS, NSS Coordinator Dr. Sameer Sharma, Youth Coordinator Dr. Seema Sharma, Pahal NGO Dr. Lakhbir Singh, Dr. Lalit Goel, Prof. Rishi, Prof. Monica, Dr. Sahib Singh, Prof. Paramjeet Kaur were present.
