BJP Ludhiana Burns Effigy of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Over Remarks Against PM and Home Minister

The Ludhiana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a strong protest outside the party office on Saturday, burning an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The protest was led by BJP District President Rajneesh Dhiman, in response to what the party called “irresponsible and objectionable remarks” made by CM Mann against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Ludhiana, July 12, 2025: The Ludhiana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a strong protest outside the party office on Saturday, burning an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The protest was led by BJP District President Rajneesh Dhiman, in response to what the party called “irresponsible and objectionable remarks” made by CM Mann against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajneesh Dhiman criticized the Chief Minister’s recent comments, stating that such language not only disrespects the highest constitutional offices of the country but also undermines the dignity of political discourse. He termed the remarks as irresponsible and regrettable, adding that they challenge India’s diplomatic decorum and initiate an unnecessary political controversy.
Dhiman also recalled a past instance from 2015, when CM Mann had mocked Prime Minister Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan, sarcastically stating that while ordinary citizens need permission to visit Pakistan, the Prime Minister went uninvited "just to eat biryani."
The protest witnessed the participation of several senior BJP leaders and workers, including State General Secretary Anil Sareen, State Treasurer Gurdev Sharma Debi, Former District President Parveen Bansal, District General Secretary Narendra Singh Malli, Vice President Dr. Nirmal Nayyar, Manish Chopra, Suman Verma, Secretary Ankit Batra, Leader of the Municipal Councillors' Group Poonam Ratra, Mahila Morcha President Sheenu Chugh, Yuva Morcha President Ravi Batra, and many others including Sukhdev Singh Gill, Amit Mittal, Yogesh Sharma, Amit Sharma, Gurwinder Singh Vicky, Suresh Aggarwal, Ramesh Sharma, Keshav Gupta, Kapil Katyal, Harvinder Singh, Ashish Gupta, and Rupinder Gujral.
