BJP Exploited the Sanctity of the Gurus for Petty Politics; Their Conspiracy to Defame AAP Through a Fake Video Exposed: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal

Amritsar/Chandigarh, January 10, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, while launching a scathing attack on the BJP, said that what BJP leaders did in Delhi is extremely shameful. Punjab is the sacred land of Gurus and saints, but the BJP has left no stone unturned in insulting our Gurus to serve its political interests. The BJP has now stooped to such a level that it is exploiting religious sentiments for its petty politics.
 
Addressing a press conference on Saturday along with AAP leader Gurpratap Singh, Dhaliwal said that the fake video of Delhi’s former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Atishi, that was made viral is a matter of deep concern. When this video, released from the account of BJP leader Kapil Mishra, was subjected to a forensic investigation following a complaint by a person from Jalandhar, the truth came out. The investigation proved that Atishi did not mention the name of the Gurus anywhere in her entire statement. By tampering with the video, the BJP has exposed its vile mentality.
 
He said that on one hand, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the AAP government commemorated the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with great devotion, while on the other hand, the BJP is working to trample upon the religious sentiments of the people. This act of the BJP has hurt Sikh sentiments, and it will not be tolerated at any cost.
 
Dhaliwal also came down heavily on the Congress and the Akali Dal, stating that leaders of these parties too shared the same fake video on their social media without verifying the truth. He said that if the opposition has any issues with the functioning of our government, they are free to criticize us, and we accept that. But dragging our Gurus into politics and insulting them to score political points is highly condemnable, and I strongly criticise all these parties for it.
 
The AAP leader directly blamed the central government, saying that the BJP-led central government is responsible for the economic challenges Punjab is facing today, as it has withheld Punjab’s rightful funds. Through such despicable acts and fake videos, the BJP wants to defame the Aam Aadmi Party so that it can gain a foothold in Punjab. However, the wise people of Punjab will never allow these tactics of the BJP to succeed.
 
Dhaliwal cautioned Punjabis across the world not to fall prey to any kind of conspiracy by the BJP. He said that from Arvind Kejriwal to every worker of the party bows their head at the feet of the Gurus, and we never do politics in the name of the Gurus, nor will we ever do so. The BJP is an anti-Punjab, anti-poor, anti-Dalit, and anti-farmer party, and the people will give them a befitting reply in the time to come.
