BJP District Ludhiana Supports Employees-Pensioners’ ‘Maha Strike’ Over Pending DA Payment

Ludhiana, August 26, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Ludhiana unit has extended its full support to the call for a ‘Maha Strike’ and mass casual leave by government employees and pensioners on August 27, in protest against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s failure to release their pending Dearness Allowance (DA). BJP District Ludhiana President Sunil Moudgil said that despite repeatedly raising their demands, employees and pensioners continue to be denied their legitimate dues, leaving them with no option but to resort to protest.
Sunil Moudgil said that the Punjab Government can no longer evade its responsibility by citing excuses or administrative difficulties in the matter of pending DA. He said that the judiciary has already made its position clear in the matter, and directions have been issued to the state government to release the pending DA. Despite this, the continued neglect of the interests of employees and pensioners by the government is highly unfortunate.
Sunil Moudgil said, “Forcing employees and pensioners who have served Punjab for years to take to the streets and go on mass casual leave for their legitimate financial rights reflects the insensitivity of the Bhagwant Mann government. Instead of delaying the grievances of employees, the government should resolve their issues immediately.”
Sunil Moudgil demanded that the AAP government release the entire pending DA without any further delay, and provide employees and pensioners their legitimate dues. He said that financial security, dignity and justice are the rights of employees and pensioners, and the BJP stands firmly with them in their struggle.
