Bittu takes dig at Sukhbir over drug charges; says pot calling the kettle black

Dakha, October 11, 2019: Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu today took a dig at the Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal for accusing the Congress MLAs of patronizing drugs. “It is a classic case of pot calling the kettle black”, Bittu remarked, while telling Sukhbir that the same people who were standing besides him and for whom he was seeking votes, were notorious for drug peddling during the ten year Akali-BJP rule. Addressing a series of public meetings in Dakha assembly segment in support of the party candidate Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Bittu said, every person in Dakha assembly segment knows as who were the people responsible for peddling drugs of and killing an entire generation of youth. “And it is for the same people Sukhbir Badal was asking votes and blaming Congress leaders for the crimes Akalis have committed”, the MP said, while telling Sukhbir that people of Punjab in general and Dakha in particular will never forgive them for destroying an entire generation of youth by drugs. Asserting that Capt Sandhu was the best candidate the people of Dakha could have, the Ludhiana MP said, after a long time they will realize what it means to have an honest, an intelligent and a hardworking legislator who has no interest other than serving people. Bittu said, Sukhbir Badal was nobody to decide as who was the best candidate as the verdict will be delivered by the people of Dakha assembly segment on October 21. “It will be a privilege for the people of Dakha to have someone like Capt Sandhu as their MLA”, he remarked, while adding, it is just a matter of 15 days more when he will be declared elected as the Dakha MLA.
