Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation Delegation Visits Jyotirgamaya Community Radio Station at Panjab University
A delegation of 20 employees of the Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation (BBSC) visited the Jyotirgamaya Community Radio Station at the School of Communication Studies (SCS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, today as part of their official visit to India.
Chandigarh, August 10, 2026: A delegation of 20 employees of the Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation (BBSC) visited the Jyotirgamaya Community Radio Station at the School of Communication Studies (SCS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, today as part of their official visit to India.
Chairperson, Prof. Archana R. Singh welcomed the delegation. Research scholars Rohit and Vats Ambardar delivered a presentation on the origin and evolution of Community Radio, with specific reference to Jyotirgamaya Radio.
The delegation also visited the Jyotirgamaya Radio station, where Sunil Sharma briefed the visitors about the station’s functioning, infrastructure and various aspects of community broadcasting.
The visit provided the delegates an opportunity to understand the practical operations of a community radio station and its role in connecting with and serving local communities.
