Chandigarh, August 22, 2019: The National Association of Geographers of India has resolved to confer its most prestigious Bhoogol Ratna Award-2019 on Dr.Gopal Krishan, Professor Emeritus, Department of Geography, Panjab University, Chandigarh, in its Annual Conference scheduled on 28-30 December, 2019 at Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Professor Gopal has been President, Institute of Indian Geographers, Pune; President, The National Association of Geographers, India, New Delhi; and President, Indian National Cartographic Association, Hyderabad.
He has also been Professor of Regional Planning at the National Institute of Urban Affairs, New Delhi and Senior Professor and Principal Advisor at the CRRID, Chandigarh. He is National Fellow of the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
