Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party’s (BRP) First Big Promise: Poppy Cultivation in Punjab, Farmers’ Prosperity and Youth Protection: Amlan Biswas and Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan
Amlan Biswas, National President of the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party and Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan, National Vice President of the party and Punjab Pradesh In-Charge, have expressed deep concern over the growing drug menace in Punjab, families being ruined by the deadly drug chitta, the poor economic condition of farmers and the future of the state’s youth.

Chandigarh, October 18, 2026: Amlan Biswas, National President of the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party and Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan, National Vice President of the party and Punjab Pradesh In-Charge, have expressed deep concern over the growing drug menace in Punjab, families being ruined by the deadly drug chitta, the poor economic condition of farmers and the future of the state’s youth.
In a press conference here today, both leaders said that the menace of chitta and other drugs has pushed countless families in Punjab into deep suffering. Young people from many families are losing their lives far too early, parents are losing their children and in many heartbreaking cases, women are losing their husbands at a young age. Children are also being deprived of their parents’ love, care and support. They said that saving Punjab’s youth and standing firmly beside families enduring such pain is a major responsibility of society and especially the government.
They strongly emphasized that a task force of Punjabi youth will be formed immediately to take action against drug smugglers, and strict action will be taken. They also said that better treatment and drug de-addiction facilities will be provided for people struggling with addiction to chitta and other drugs. Employment will be provided to the youth of Punjab without delay and poppy seeds, opium cultivation will be introduced to increase the income of farmers and agricultural labourers.
Both leaders further said that it is the responsibility of the people of Punjab to form a government of the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party in Punjab, and the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party government will introduce poppy seeds, opium cultivation in Punjab on the lines of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Biswan and Grewal both leaders said that the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party is committed to working seriously on issues related to farmers’ prosperity, the economic progress of agricultural labourers, support for families affected by drugs and the development of Punjab’s villages. They said that this is the main goal of the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party and a firm promise to Punjabis living across the world.
