Chandigarh, November 12, 2022: The Cabinet Minister of Punjab and eminent personalities arrived at the ongoing 63rd Panjab University Inter Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival 2022 at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma and entire college management honoured the guests with a token of respect. Sanjeev Anand,  Secretary, college management committee welcomed the dignitaries.

On the second day, Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak was the chief guest for the evening session. In his address he said that these kinds of cultural festivals provide an opportunity to students to emerge as dancers, actors, poets and writers. Sartaj Singh Chahal (SSP, Hoshiarpur), Dr. Himanshu Agrawal (DC, Fazilka) and Komal Mittal (IAS) graced the event as guests of honour. Addressing the audience, Sartaj Singh Chahal said that youth festivals channelise the  potential of students and provide exemplary opportunities to students to showcase their talent in a healthy competitive spirit.

While congratulating the college, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Komal Mittal said that the objective of this festival is to preserve and celebrate the rich cultural tradition of the state and unleash the talent of students. Rajan Makkar, President of the college management committee, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries , principals, teachers, participants and visitors from various colleges for attending this 4-day extravaganza. 

Following were the results of the second day of Inter Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival: In Drama,Folk song, Debate, Poem Recitation, Cartooning, Poster Making, Still Life Drawing and On the Spot Painting Jhelum stood first. Sutlej grabbed first position in Histrionics, and Muhavredar Vartalaap. Zone Beas got first position in Group Singing, and Clay Modelling.

Alaknanda in Geet, Narmada in Elocution, Sutlej in Rangoli, Chenab in Collage Making and Photography, Gomti in Installation and Ghazal stood first.
