Bhagwant Mann casts vote in his native village
Asserts that people will give verdict in favour of development and pro-people policies
Sangrur, December 14, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday cast his vote in his native village here and expressed hope that the newly elected Zila Paishads and Block Samitis will give further impetus to development of the state.
Interacting with the media persons after casting his vote, the Chief Minister said that these elections are beneficial for overall development of the rural areas. He said that these act as the foundations of the democracy as the people are able to perform at the grass root level. Likewise, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these elections act as a Launchpad for the young politicians who aspire to serve the masses.
The Chief Minister urged the people to come out and vote in big number thereby becoming active partners in growth and progress of the state. He said that this right has been obtained after a lot of struggle by our grandfathers and it should be used cautiously in the larger public address. Bhagwant Singh Mann urged the people to use the vote for electing the right candidates who can be their voice in the public arenas.
Outrightly rejecting the allegations of opposition regarding the misuse of official machinery, the Chief Minister said that the administration deserves kudos for organising free, fair and transparent polls. He said that the opposition especially Akali Dal Badal has always patronised the gangsters and they have tried to use them in these polls too. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that in such situation the administration can’t idle and see these gangsters flexing their muscles and sabotaging the poll process.
The Chief minister said that more than 2400 candidates from opposition are contesting the polls which clearly reflects that there has been no use of the official machinery. He said that the elections are being organised by the commission in a free and fair manner adding that baffled by their defeats the opposition is indulging in such cheap tactics. Bhagwant Singh Mann quipped that former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is claiming that he getting threat from gangsters adding that such threats are being given only by Akali Dal as they have given tickets to the gangsters and their relatives,who are threatening the people.
The Chief Minister further said that Lok Sabha MP Channi should not be taken seriously as he is issuing irresponsible statements just in anticipation to the inevitable defeat of his party. Quoting from Gurbani, the Chief Minister said, “Pavan Guru, Paani Pitaah, Mata Dharat Mahat”, he said that our revered Gurus equated air (pavan) with the teacher, water (paani) with the father, and land (dharat) with the mother. Bhagwant Singh Mann stressed that the time has come to sincerely imbibe the essence of Gurbani to restore Punjab’s ecological and spiritual glory.
