Ludhiana, February 19, 2026: Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, an employment and free health camp was organized at Ramgarhia Bhawan by the district administration. 
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond was the chief guest. 
The aim of the camp was to provide new employment opportunities for women, ensure their healthcare, and empower them to become self-reliant.
In his address, Sond stated that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's leadership, the Punjab government is fully committed to women's empowerment. He described Beti Bachao Beti Padhao not just as a slogan but as a major campaign for social change, ensuring women get equal opportunities in education, health, and employment. He added that the government is continuously organizing such camps across all districts to reach every woman with scheme benefits, emphasizing that making women healthy and self-reliant forms the foundation of a strong and progressive society.
During the camp, over 25 private and semi-government industries set up booths. As many as 697 female students and women from various colleges in district appeared for on-the-spot interviews. Based on their qualifications, skills, and educational abilities, 195 women were selected for employment, while around 50 received job letters immediately on the spot. The doctors conducted free medical check-ups for 341 patients. The medicines were provided free of cost, along with essential health advice for women.
