Bavarchi Season-2: Pan-India Cooking Competition by ChefKala Showcases Culinary Talent
ChefKala by Nellu Kaura, in association with Navya Kaura and Kanupriya Kaura, successfully organized a grand Pan-India level cooking competition Bavarchi Season-2 on Tuesday, at Hotel Maharaja Regency, Ludhiana. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 180 contestants competing under two categories – Home Cook and Student.

Ludhiana, August 19, 2025: ChefKala by Nellu Kaura, in association with Navya Kaura and Kanupriya Kaura, successfully organized a grand Pan-India level cooking competition Bavarchi Season-2 on Tuesday, at Hotel Maharaja Regency, Ludhiana. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 180 contestants competing under two categories – Home Cook and Student.
The competition was graced by a distinguished panel of celebrated chefs from across India, including Chef Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Chef Saurabh Sharma, Chef Nishant Choubey, Dr. Chef Varinder Singh Rana, Chef Vishavdeep Bali, Chef Hitesh Arora, Chef Mahendra Khairiya, Chef Vinod Saini, Chef Sanjeeb Ghatak, and Chef Vaibhav Bhargava.
The program began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Rajni Bector, Dr. Manbir Singh, and other esteemed guests. This was followed by vibrant cultural performances by students from DCM Presidency and Shining Champs, which added a festive touch to the event.
A fun cook-off between four renowned chefs kept the audience entertained, while an engaging talk show with two distinguished culinary experts provided valuable insights into the world of gastronomy. The celebration also included a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the success of Bavarchi Season-2.
After rigorous rounds of cooking, 30 talented finalists were shortlisted, who will now compete in the grand finale scheduled for August 26, at CT University, Ludhiana. The finale will be judged by celebrity chef Kunal Kapur, where finalists will face the challenge of preparing a traditional Indian State Thali within three hours.
Additionally, 10 special subtitles were awarded to participants in recognition of their exceptional passion and creativity in cooking.
