Ludhiana, February 1, 2014: Rakesh Singh, Chief Secretary of Punjab has appealed to all banks to promote more beneficial schemes in the field of agriculture, education & industrial trades.

He was addressing the public during inaugural ceremony of Zonal Office, Dena bank. This Zonal office will serve the consumers of people from entire Punjab, J&K.

Singh said that Bank is an integral part in the economy of a country and economy of the country directly or indirectly depends on the education level, trades & industrial development of that nation. As such, Banks should promote beneficial schemes in these fields & should come up with flexible terms & conditions for the loans in these sectors. He appreciated the works being done by the bank towards development & strengthening of small n medium scale industries. He said that it is expected that this zonal office at Ludhiana will be beneficial for the industrialist & other consumers. Govt. of Punjab has also initiated many schemes for encouraging the small & medium class industries. The state is also being developed as education hub for this purpose.

Ashwani Kumar, CMD-cum-Managing Director Dena Bank, who was also the chief guest of the program said that, at present, the bank is operating its 28 branches in Punjab & 2 branched in J&K. All the branches are having ATM facility. He further added, that to facilitate the consumers new branches at Ludhiana , Amritsar & Kharar are being opened with in coming next month. Besides these, approval for 14 new branches have also granted to the bank. Now bank will expand its work area in J&K.

Rakesh Goyal, Director Dena Bank said that bank has added agriculture, education, home loans, SME in its list of priorities, which will facilitate the consumers with easy loan facilities. Explaining about the favorable schemes initiated by bank, he said that the bank has decided to start some new schemes with a growth target of16%.
