Bank of India, a leading public sector bank, is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November 2023. This year's theme is 'भ्रष्टाचार का विरोध करें: राष्ट्र के प्रति समर्पित रहें', which translates to 'Say no to corruption, commit to the Nation'.

Mumbai, November 4, 2023 : Bank of India, a leading public sector bank, is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November 2023. This year's theme is 'भ्रष्टाचार का विरोध करें: राष्ट्र के प्रति समर्पित रहें', which translates to 'Say no to corruption, commit to the Nation'.

 
Rajneesh Karnatak, Managing Director & CEO, inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week-2023 on the first day of the campaign. He administered the Integrity pledge in Hindi to the executives in the Board Room in the presence of Shri P R Rajagopal - Executive Director, Shri Swarup Dasgupta - Executive Director, Shri M Karthikeyan - Executive Director, and other Senior Executives. Shri Vishnu Kumar Gupta, Chief Vigilance Officer, led the pledge in English.

 
Bank of India upholds the invaluable principles of transparency and accountability in all its interactions with customers, stakeholders, and society as a whole. To convey the commitment towards the message of Vigilance Awareness strongly, the staff formed a human chain at the Head Office premises. As per the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the Bank will sensitize the public about whistleblowing to expose corruption and focus on internal activities during the Vigilance Awareness Week.

The Bank will host grievance redressal camps and 'Awareness Gram Sabhas' during the Vigilance Awareness Week. Over 4500 Gram Sabhas have already been organized to educate citizens about the detrimental effects of corruption.
 

In collaboration with field functionaries, Bank of India conducted a range of outreach activities including quizzes, essays, slogans, and painting competitions for employees. Social campaigns were also launched to heighten awareness on the issue. To further promote preventive vigilance, Bank of India organized a Walkathon on 03.11.2023 at BKC, joined by Union Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, LIC, BPCL, and other PSBs/PSUs, with over 1000 staff members in attendance.
 

Banners and posters will be displayed across different locations to educate both external and internal stakeholders on the significance of the Vigilance Awareness Week. Vigilance Awareness Week, held annually in the last week of October to coincide with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday on October 31st, underscores the Bank's dedication to fostering integrity and probity in public life through citizen engagement
