Jalandhar, May 14, 2019: Banarsi Dass Arya Girls Collegiate School, Jalandhar Cantt, organised the sports meet, wherein the students of 10+1, 10+2 competed in events including Tug of War, 100 meters race, three-legged race, spoon and lemon race, brick race and obstacle race. The chief guest of the occasion was our old student Ms.Meena Kumari who currently serves as S.I., Punjab Police. She was also conferred the title of – Strongest Woman of India 2018 in Power Lifting. The Chief Guest was delighted to see the large number of young children participating enthusiastically and said that we all learn more outside the class through the medium of sports which is like a rejuvenating therapy for all. Mr. Mohit bagged the best player trophy in boys and Ms.Udhanpret Kaur got the best player trophy in girls. Principal Dr. (Ms) Sarita Verma welcomed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of sports in a student’s life. She further advised students to make use of all the available resources to showcase their talents. Ms.Mandeep Kaur, Dept. of Physical Education was the incharge of the event and Dr.Surinder Pal Kaur, Punjabi department conducted the stage.
