BADISH JINDAL: Dissolution of state level advisory board on MSMEs unconstitutional and illegal

FASII National President Badish Jindal.

Ludhiana, March 18, 2013: In a communication to Punjab Governor, the Federation of Associations of Small Industries India (FASII) National President Badish Jindal has taken up the issue of “unconstitutional and illegal” dissolution of State Level Advisory
Board on MSMEs by Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Punjab.
Jindal stated that the Government of Punjab had constituted a State Level Advisory Board for MSMEs of Punjab under his (Punjab Governor) orders dated March 10, 2012 vide notification (No. SSI/SLAB/426). The tenure of this Board was for three years, he revealed.
adding, he said the purpose of this Board was to play advisory role to the State Government for the promotion of MSME sector of Punjab. The stalwarts of industry were nominated as the members of this Board by the State Government in consultation with the Director-MSME-DI, Government of India.
However, unfortunately just before the first meeting of this Board scheduled for March 15, 2012,  the Government of Punjab  dissolved this board without informing any Board Member or the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. This is a sheer “insult” to the Industrial Associations of Punjab.

Further, he stated that “we also have the information that this Board was dissolved mainly due to vested political interest i.e. for obliging a few party workers. So it is requested that the new Board should not be considered for approval before the actual expiry date of the existing Board.”
