Badal pays rich tributes to Lord Vishwakarma

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal  honouring the eminent Industrialists of Ludhiana on the auspicious occasion  of the ‘Parkash Utsav’ of Lord Vishawkarma at Ludhiana on Monday.

Ludhiana, November 4, 2013: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today calls upon the people of Punjab to oust the Congress led UPA government at the Centre in the coming Lok Sabha elections as it has failed miserably on every front.

Addressing the media persons on the sidelines of a state level function on the auspicious occasion of 'Parkash Divas' of divine architect of the whole universe Lord Vishwakarma here at Sri Guru Nanak Bhawan, Badal said, "The country could never prosper until corrupt Congress solely responsible for inflation is not be rooted out from the Centre".

Replying to another query that whether the state government was registering any case against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Partap Singh Bajawa for alleged irregularities in land deal case, Badal said an appropriate necessary legal action would be taken only after the detailed study of the case. He categorically said that he had never believed in politics of vendetta, even after being targeted severely during Congress regime.

Replying to a media person regarding Congress's move to ban the election surveys, Badal said that at this juncture the Congress was completely desperate and reading it clearly that their days at the Centre were numbered.

Earlier, addressing a mammoth gathering during the state level function the Chief Minister said that SAD-BJP government had succeeded in creating a congenial atmosphere for Industrial growth in the state despite the step motherly treatment of Central Government that had always ignored Punjab’s legitimate rights and liberally granted industrial tax concessions to its neighboring states of Himachal Pardesh, J&K and Uttarakhand.

Badal said that the Punjab had contributed enormously in the freedom struggle and consequently in making the country self sufficient in food production during post independence era but successive Congress governments at the Centre had always ignored the interests of state by formulating stringent parameters to exclude Punjab deliberately from the ambit of these schemes.

Lashing out at the Congress led UPA government for ruining the Agriculture as well as the Industrial sectors of the state, the Chief Minister categorically said that the anti-Punjab stance of the Union government had virtually brought the hard working and resilient Punjabis on the verge of economic disaster.

He further added that perfect law and order situation, an atmosphere of peace and communal harmony, ideal labour relations, top-quality infrastructure, improved power scenario and above all the investment friendly industrial policy of SAD-BJP government were some of the reasons that resulted in pushing Punjab amongst the top investment destination states in the country.  The concerted efforts of SAD-BJP government would further generate a huge employment potential for the youth of the state in coming times, added Badal. 

Paying rich tributes to the Lord Vishwakarma the Chief Minister felicitated the technocrats and labourers of the state and said that Lord Vishwakarma was the founder of the Engineering, Architecture and technology on the earth. The industrial and infrastructure growth across the globe that we were observe today was only due to the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma, who had created mechanical skills. The technological skills coupled with day-to-day advancements had facilitated mankind to grow swiftly.  Mr. Badal appealed the people especially the Punjabi youth to improve their professional skills and enhance their abilities for availing optimal job opportunities being created by the SAD-BJP government’s pro-people policies and programmes.

Later, the Chief Minister also honoured the eminent Industrialists from Ludhiana included Amarjit Singh, Surinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Ranjit Singh, Jaswinder Singh Virdi, Lallit Kochar, Charanjit Singh Vihawkarama, Ranjot Singh and Inder Singh Sohal.

Speaking on the occasion, former Minister Hira Singh Gabria welcomed the Chief Minister and said that the guidance and stewardship of Parkash Singh Badal along with his visionary approach had created an atmosphere to boost the industrialisation in the state.

Prominent amongst those who paid their rich tributes to Baba Vishawkarama and felicitated the people on the occasion included Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, Forest Minister Chuni Lal Bhagat and Vice-Chairman, Punjab Planning Board Prof. Rajinder Bhandari. 

Prominent amongst those who attended the function included PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon Advisor to CM Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Prem Mittal and Ranjit Singh Dhillon (both MLAs) and many others SAD, BJP party leaders and workers.
