‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ commemorated through webinar 
Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.) shared his thoughts during the webinar.

Noida: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated by conducting a Webinar on  “Param Vir Chakra Ki Vir Gathain: Bravest of the Brave” organised by Amity Institute of Defence & Strategic Studies (AIDSS)  at  Amity University, Noida Campus with great fervour and enthusiasm. The Webinar was a motivational ‘Student Centric’ endeavour inspiring them about the intrepid actions fought tenaciously by the Param Vir Chakra awardees in various conflicts.
 Delivering his inaugural address, Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.), former Governor, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh & Tripura, said In June 1948 it was decided to institute new Indian Awards for Gallantry i.e “Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra and Vir Chakra. The highest award being the Param Vir Chakra is equivalent to the medal of honour in United States of America. Left General (Retd) Shri KM Seth said “that the Indian Army is an epitome of supreme sacrifice. So far, 21 bravehearts in the country have been awarded the highest honor Param Vir Chakra. He said the primary aim of organising this highly motivational webinar is to build the feeling of sacrifice for the great nation amongst the youths of the country.  He added, people in the Army join as volunteers to prove themselves amongst their fellow men and willing to sacrifice their life for the nation for which we are very proud of each and every solider.
Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, shared his sterling thoughts of wisdom on the subject and said that the aim of this event is to build the indomitable spirit of invincibility and feeling of Sacrifice for the Great Nation in all Amitians and the Youth of the country, to preserve the peace & stability Equilibrium: AMAN aur SHANTI. He talked about his idea behind to create the Amity Institute of Defence & Strategic Studies (AIDSS) Institute, which contributes prominently as a Research Centre on Defence & Strategic Affairs for Amity students and its research scholars. He also acknowledged the contribution of eminent Guest Speakers from the Armed Forces for participating and sharing their thoughts and ideas on the occasion, on the actions fought with tenacity by Bravest of the Brave PVC awardees in various Wars. He further added that Amity has taken great learnings from the armed forces which have been imbibed in its functioning. Success of Amity goes to the Armed Forces said Dr. Chauhan.
Addressing the august gathering, Maj. Gen. D. Kapur, VSM (Retd.) , Lt. Gen. (Dr) J.S. Cheema, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Maj. Gen. Rajiv Edwards, VSM (Retd.) and Maj Gen SP Mehta (Retd) shared their thoughts and ideas on Acts of Valour- Legends of India and cited historical accounts which have created a high threshold of motivation and pride amongst all the proud citizenry. They also cited the instances of soldiers which motivated them in improving their ‘Assimilation & Intellectual Understanding’ on the conduct of operations on the battlefield in various inhospitable terrain and inclement weather conditions, when baptised with heavy fire. In such adverse circumstances, under superior odds, soldiers disregarded personal safety and fought fearlessly to achieve victory at all costs their by displaying, conspicuous bravery and exemplary fortitude to completely destroy the enemy, for which the country will always be proud of.
During the battles the heroic acts of bravery manifest intrinsically in a soldier to fight viciously towards annihilation of the enemy, being the most dependable vanguard custodians of Security. Such depictions of valour with supreme sacrifice by soldiers in Virtual form perpetuates the nationalistic feeling of Sacred Duty, with Honour towards your Country. It also enhances the ‘Awareness Quotient’ in the unignited minds of the students about the gallant actions of the Bravehearts in various battles, which is part of the rich heritage of the country , said Lt Gen (Dr) SK Gadeock, AVSM (Retd), Director General, Amity Institute of Defence & Strategic Studies (AIDSS).
The Webinar was attended by Prof. (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, AUUP, eminent Scientists, faculty , senior officials of the civil services, veterans from the Armed Forces, students and illustrious citizenry from the NCR.
