Awareness Program in the Pediatrics Department on International Children's Cancer Day
A special awareness program was organized in the OPD of the Department of Pediatrics at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences to mark the International Children's Cancer Day.
Rohtak, February 14, 2026: A special awareness program was organized in the OPD of the Department of Pediatrics at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences to mark the International Children's Cancer Day.
In this event, led by Dr. Alka, various activities including painting competitions and games were organized to encourage children battling cancer and their families.
Dr. Alka delivered her welcome address, raising awareness about childhood cancer and discussing the latest technologies in its treatment. She emphasized that a serious disease like childhood cancer can be cured with timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment. She emphasized that family support is crucial in pediatric cancer treatment. She urged parents to pay close attention to their children's health and not ignore any unusual symptoms.
At the event, children who had recovered from cancer were presented with awards and certificates of appreciation. The children also shared the stories of their battle against the disease. An exhibition showcasing the symptoms, treatment, and prevention methods of childhood cancer was also organized in the OPD of the Pediatrics Department. Other doctors and nursing staff from the pediatric department also participated in the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Alka.
