Jalandhar, February 12, 2026: A special and enlightening awareness program was organized for the students of the Health and Wellness Club at Innocent Hearts School, Loharan on the occasion of International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Day under  Disha - an Initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust.

This awareness program was organized by the Punjab State Chapter of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India under the leadership of Dr. Nidhi Prahar. The objective of the program was to make the students aware of health problems related to mouth, teeth, jaw and face, their modern treatment and effective prevention.

The specialist doctors provided detailed information to the students on the following important topics in a very simple and effective manner:

*Importance of regular cleaning of teeth and mouth
*Measures to prevent facial and jaw injuries in sports or accidents.
*Early detection of oral cancer and importance of timely detection.
*Side effects of unbalanced diet, tobacco and addiction habits on oral health.
*Special role of oral and maxillofacial surgeons in complex oral and jaw problems.

During the session, students were made aware through power-point presentation, real-life examples and interesting question and answer sessions. The students participated with great enthusiasm and curiosity and got solutions to their questions.

The message, especially to the students, was that "a healthy smile is the hallmark of a healthy life." They were encouraged to adopt regular dental check-ups, a balanced diet, and hygiene habits.

At the culmination of the program, Director CSR, Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry expressed gratitude to the specialist doctors of the Punjab State Chapter and said that such awareness programs contribute significantly to the all-round development of the students. Such initiatives not only make students health conscious but also motivate them to spread awareness in the society.

Dr. Anup Bowry , President, Innocent Hearts,stated that this event of International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Day proved to be very inspiring, informative and useful for the students, which gave them an important message towards adopting a healthy lifestyle.
