Awareness Generation Session on Anemia at Home Science College

Chandigarh, September 16, 2021: To generate awareness about anemia - a growing public health concern, a workshop was organised at Government Home Science College to educate adolescent girls about this growing menace.

Post graduate students of Department of Foods and Nutrition talked about the signs and symptoms of anemia and its dietary management. This activity was conducted throughout the day in small batches. The session proved successful in helping spread awareness and knowledge about iron deficiency anemia.

Principal of the college Prof Sudha Katyal encouraged the students to conduct more such workshops to help spread the message of anemia and make Chandigarh anemia free as per the directives of the government under Poshan Abhiyan
