Awareness event on recuperative remedies from nature 

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with SHKKTI Foundation organized an awareness event "Retire from Illness: Rewire with Nature's Bliss''. Mr Jaapinder Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jalandhar was the chief guest for the occasion. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi in her welcoming address averred that the role of food in one's diet as an integral ingredient in one's holistic development. Maintaining good health of individuals is of paramount importance for any civilized society and dietary habits have a pivotal role to ensure one's health and well being. She further maintained that KMV always believe in providing holistic education to the students in which the students should be made aware about their health issues, diet habits & lifestyle etc. 

The first speaker of the day Mr Atul Shah, Founder, Ojas Parivaar, ardently devoted to the cause of "Mission Health India:2025". Emphasized the creative role of Mother Nature in healing humanity suffering from many killer diseases. Ironically, man being the supreme creation of nature belong to the only species that is suffering from as many as 13000 diseases of varying nature. We need to identify the indicators of ill health like low energy, gastric troubles, headache, swelling, acidity, allergy etc. If ignored, erratic lifestyle can lead to life terminating diseases. He also touched upon the some of the vital problems of physical health through a visual representation.

The resource person of the second session, Mr Deepak Ashwani, an environmentalist to the core stressed upon the need of designing self managed edible forests empowering the communities as well as individuals towards self sufficiency. Elaborating the concept of "Edible Forests", he underlined the ecological compulsions to resort to smokeless cooking & also avoiding dairy products to minimize environment hazards and boost physical as well as spiritual health. The college and SHKKTI Foundation honoured many stalwarts in recognition of their meritorious services to the cause of Sustainable Development of Mankind through Nature. Retd Col R.S. Dhaul was felicitated with One Person Army Award. Ms Vinay Jain, a leading business woman heading a premier construction company was bestowed with ''Treading the Untrodden Award'' for setting new benchmarks in the male dominated sector. 

Mr Arwind Dhumal was honoured with an award for his outstanding & enduring endeavours for Sustainable Development with holistic approach. Recognising the colossal contribution made to the cause of higher education, Mr Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, Lovely Professional University, the award of Vasudev Katumbhkan was bestowed upon him. A formal Vote of Thanks was extended by Ms Abha Nagar, President, SHKKTI Foundation to all the dignitaries especially to the college authorities for extending collaborative help in successfully organizing the event.
