Jalandhar, December 15, 2021: The Social Sensitization Cell of Lyallpur Khalsa College organized an awareness cum protest rally at the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar in collaboration with the NGO AGAPP(Action Group Against Plastic Pollution) to make public aware of the hazards of single use plastic bags and to pressurize authorities to enforce ban on them. 
The rally was marked by raising slogans and reciting songs related to ban of polythene bags. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra encouraged and appreciated the initiative taken by Social Sensitization Cell and AGAPP to stop single use plastic bags. Dr. Samra said that plastic pollution is very dangerous for all the living beings and such awareness campaigns are very necessary to convince people and pressurize authorities so that we can save our Earth from various pollutants and toxins.
Social Sensitization cell members Prof. Amita Shahid (Convenor), Dr. Patwant Atwal, Dr. Ubique Bedi, Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Geetanjli, Dr. Manmeet Sodhi, Prof. Manish Goel actively participated through out the event alongwith AGAPP members, Dr. Navneet Bhullar and Gunwant Singh Atwal.
