Awareness campaign carried out in Village Sarangpur by PU 

Chandigarh: The Human Rights Volunteer Cell for Paralegal Services, Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh organized an awareness campaign on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Village Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Sh. Mahavir Singh, Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh. He talked to students about the importance of education for the girl child.  Dr. Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University elucidated the importance of education for girl child. 

The event served as a platform to create awareness among the students regarding the rights of the girl child. The students were shown videos highlighting the importance and value of education.

    
The students were also informed about the good touch and bad touch to protect themselves from any adverse situation. Other activities such as painting competition and tattoo making were also organized. The students of the school and Panjab University shared their thoughts on the theme through poetry and dance. 

The programme concluded with a rally flagged off from the school led by Principal of the school Mr. Rajan Jain and Dr Upneet Kaur Mangat from Panjab University.
