Awareness about the POSH Act is essential: VC Dr. H.K. Aggarwal
Dr. H.K. Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, attended the POSH Act awareness program organized at PGIMS in collaboration with the Dean of Student Welfare and the Internal Complaints Committee as the chief guest.
Rohtak, February 18, 2026: Dr. H.K. Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, attended the POSH Act awareness program organized at PGIMS in collaboration with the Dean of Student Welfare and the Internal Complaints Committee as the chief guest.
Vice Chancellor Dr. H.K. Aggarwal said that this program, organized by the National Commission for Women, is essential for women's empowerment. He added that in today's mobile age, everyone should be aware of cyber security. He said that the institute is conducting various programs for women's empowerment and to raise awareness among students and staff.
Registrar Dr. Roop Singh, speaking on gender equality, said that the Constitution guarantees equal rights to all. If any student, faculty, or employee has any problem, they should report it to the university administration. Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated at the institute.
Director Dr. Suresh Singhal said that in the era of increasing cyber crime, we must be aware of it. He said that the institute has taken several steps to provide a conducive workplace environment for women.
Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Savita Singhal, explained the POSH Act, stating that it applies to every workplace. She also discussed the challenges faced in preventing sexual harassment at the workplace. She explained that an Internal Complaints Committee has been formed at the institute, which investigates cases of sexual harassment at the workplace and takes appropriate action.
Dr. Preeti Singh, speaking about the institute's Internal Complaints Committee, said that it includes representatives from all sectors and works impartially. She added that this committee was formed to address the problems of students and staff.
Dr. Vinod administered a pledge to promote gender sensitivity. Dr. Madhu Sharma expressed her gratitude. SI Mukesh and SHO Kuldeep discussed the types of cybercrime and preventive measures. Medical Superintendent Dr. Kundan Mittal, Dental College Principal Dr. Sanjay Tiwari, Dr. Aparna Parmar, Dr. Madhu, Prof. Sunita, Dr. Meenakshi, Dr. Vinod, Dr. Shikha Tiwari, Dr. Rekha, along with students were present on the occasion.
