Avon Fitness Cup concludes; Bollywood actor sonu sood applauds winners at body building championship by avon fitness machines

Ludhiana, March 3, 2019: Avon Fitness Machines, a subsidiary of the AVON group of Ludhiana, organized a three-day Body Building & Fitness Championship at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana which started on Friday, 1 March concluded on Sunday, March 3. On the first day of the competition participants registered for the various categories. Both, men and women, from all over the country showed up to be part of this mega event.

The special guest on the last day of the event was Bollywood actor Sonu Sood. He encouraged the participants to touch new heights of success with their hard work. He said, "The youth of Punjab as been embroiled in drug addiction and we are always looking to encourage the youth to take up something constructive. Events like Avon fitness cup definitely help youth achieve that goal. All you young people should make sure that you add some activity that works for your fitness in your daily routine."

The second day of the event have to be cut short because of the rain. However the last day off the event was a huge success as hundreds of participants competed in categories and various prizes were given away to the deserving.

A lot of participants came out victorious and won a number of prizes. Jitender Kumar Arora won the master category above 40. Akash Thakur won men's physique in the above 170 category. Rakesh Gupta won men's physique in the below 170 category. Shubham Sharma won the title of bodybuilding in the 50-60 category. Sushil Kumar won the title of bodybuilding in the 60-70 category. Jagjit Singh won the title of bodybuilding in the 70-80 category. Kiratpal Singh won the title of bodybuilding in the 80-90 category. Sujit Kumar Jena won the title of bodybuilding in the above 90 category. Jitender Kumar won the title in the physically challenged category.

Navneet Kaur won a cash prize of ₹ 1 lakh along with the title of Avon Crown Female while Kirat Lakhyan won a cash prize of ₹5 lakhs as he walked away with the highest title of Avon Proud in the male category.

Onkar Pahwa, MD, Avon Cycles said, "The Avon Fitness Cup is a great start to a legacy of promoting health and fitness. Looking at the success of this event we will be holding it every year. It is probably the only bodybuilding event in India that has been held at this scale with prizes amounting up to ₹ 25 lakhs."

Santosh Motwani, Director, Avon Fitness said, "Up till now bodybuilding had mainly remained in the domain of men. However, we have ensured that women have the same platform. More and more women are taking up bodybuilding professionally."
