Children’s author and poet Deepa Agarwal visited Oakridge International School Mohali on the occasion of Library Week.

Mohali, October 22, 2019: Children’s author and poet Deepa Agarwal visited Oakridge International School Mohali on the occasion of Library Week. 

The author had a lively interaction with students. Author and poet Deepa gave a very dynamic and engaging presentation about being an author and how she draws inspiration from different sources to write excellent stories. The children were also exhilarated to be a part of this of this interesting and informative workshop. She encouraged the students to read a lot as better reading leads to better writing.
 
There were lots of activities lined up for the weeklong event like  Live a story, storytelling session, activities like Book mark competition, Book review and library quiz ,Inter house debate on mystery and fiction books. These activities were organized to encourage reading new books and experience the pleasure and joy of reading.
 
While speaking at the moment Principal   Ramanjit Ghuman  said that the whole session was extremely informative for the budding authors.
According to her today's readers will be tomorrow's leaders and to encourage children to read more learn more ultimately lead to better lives.She further informed that She is a critically acclaimed author who has been bestowed upon with illustrious awards such as the Children’s Book Trust Competitions for Writers award, the N.C.E.R.T National Award for Children’s Literature. She also has had a great experience of more than 40 years.
 
Author and poet Deepa Agarwal while encouraging the students said that in this fast pace world where electronic gadgets have taken over the reigns, it is important to keep alive the enriching habit of reading .Students are sure to have benefited from this activity to become avid readers so that they can gain from the unfathomable treasure hiding and stored in the books.
