“Aurora 2026: Dawn of a New Journey” – Freshers 2026 Celebrated at Centre for Public Health, Panjab University

Chandigarh, September 22, 2026: The Centre for Public Health, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised Freshers 2026, themed “Aurora 2026: Dawn of a New Journey”, to warmly welcome the new batch of students and mark the beginning of their academic journey.
The event was graced by Registrar, PU, Prof. Yajvender Pal Singh Verma and Dean Student Welfare (Women), PU, Prof. Namita Gupta. Both dignitaries delivered motivational speeches and encouraged the students to make the most of their university journey, pursue their goals with dedication, and actively participate in academic and extracurricular activities.
The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Chairperson, Centre for Public Health, PU; Faculty, Centre for Public Health, PU, Dr. Manoj Kumar; Faculty, Centre for Public Health, PU, Dr. Paravreet Kaur and Ms. Poonam Sharma. The programme featured a range of cultural activities and performances that created an enthusiastic and vibrant atmosphere.
Dance performances by the MPH students were among the highlights of the event. The MPH 2nd Year students, Garima, Manvi and Harnoor, presented a dance performance, while MPH 1st Year students, Saina and Swati, also showcased their talent through a dance performance.
The event also featured the much-awaited Mr. and Ms. Freshers segment, celebrating the confidence, personality, and enthusiasm of the new students. Mr. Freshers was awarded to Khushmeet Singh, while Swati was crowned Ms. Freshers.
The titles of Mr. Personality and Ms. Personality were conferred upon Dr. Aman Kondal and Hemvanti, respectively, in recognition of their distinguished demeanor and impactful presence.
Furthermore, the titles of Mr. All Rounder and Ms. All Rounder were awarded to Aditya and Saina, respectively, for their versatile talents and all-round excellence.
The celebrations provided the freshers with an opportunity to interact with their peers, showcase their talents, and begin their university journey in an engaging and memorable manner. The event fostered a spirit of camaraderie, confidence, and belonging among the students of the Centre for Public Health.
