ASSOCHAM Hosts Landmark CSR & Sustainability Conference & Awards in Hyderabad: Spotlight on Viksit Bharat 2047 and Inclusive Development

Hyderabad, June 20, 2025: The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) organized a landmark CSR & Sustainability Conference & Awards in Hyderabad today, convening an influential assembly of leaders from government, corporate, academia, and civil society to discuss and drive India’s sustainable development agenda under the theme “People, Planet, Prosperity – Towards Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The event commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp and an inspiring welcome by Rambabu Boorugu, Co-chair, ASSOCHAM Telangana State Development Council and Executive Director & CTO, Pranava Group, followed by a stirring theme address by Abhishek Ranjan, Chair, ASSOCHAM Southern Region CSR & Sustainability Council and Global Head – ESG, Brillio.
In a series of insightful special addresses, eminent voices such as Kalpana Ramesh (The Rainwater Project), Animesh Rai (Ripples Learning), and Srikanth Badiga (Phoenix Group & EPCES, Govt. of India) emphasized the urgent need for collaborative action on water conservation, education, and sustainable entrepreneurship.
The day featured four dynamic panel discussions:
• People: Empowering Human Capital for Inclusive Growth, moderated by Mr. Ravichandran Venkataraman (eVidyaloka), focused on education, skilling, DEI, and health.
• Planet: Climate Action and Sustainable Innovation, led by Dr. Anil Jaggi (Conscious Ventures), highlighted ESG, circular economy, and green technologies.
• Prosperity: Economic Growth with Responsible Capitalism, chaired by Vishal Bhardwaj (Shree Cement), explored inclusive business models and impact investing.
• Viksit Bharat 2047 – CSR: From Campus to Corporate, moderated by Nav Kishlay (Ripples Learning), looked at shaping responsible future leaders.
The event culminated in the prestigious ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Awards 2024, celebrating exemplary contributions from leading organizations and changemakers. The award ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Finance & Planning, Energy, Government of Telangana, who delivered the keynote address on “Vision 2047: India’s Path to a Sustainable Future.”
In his keynote address, he acknowledged the crucial role of corporates in driving positive change across communities and commended their ongoing commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Speaking at the conference, he said, “Corporate India has played a significant role in advancing community well-being and sustainability goals. The government of Telangana appreciates this partnership and will continue to support inclusive development through strong industry collaboration.”
Over 20 organizations were recognized across various categories for their exemplary contributions in CSR and sustainability. The awards were presented by distinguished dignitaries
Dignitaries such as Dr. K M Baharul Islam (IMT Hyderabad), Suresh Chukkapalli (Honorary Consul General, Republic of Korea), and Harichandana Dasari, IAS, Collector, Hyderabad, Srikanth Badiga, Past-Chairman, ASSOCHAM Telangana State Development Council and Group Director, Phoenix Group & Chairman, EPCES, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Macha Dinesh Babu, Regional Director, ASSOCHAM and Dr Krishna Yedula, Co-Chair, ASSOCHAM Southern Region CSR & Sustainability Council and Vice President & Head - Facilities and Sustainability | India; Centre Head – Hyderabad, Virtusa Corp also addressed the gathering, reinforcing Telangana’s leadership in sustainable and inclusive governance.
In his closing remarks, Abhishek Ranjan emphasized, “Today’s conclave reaffirmed that inclusive, accountable, and innovative CSR is the cornerstone of India’s journey toward Viksit Bharat 2047. Our collective call to action must translate dialogue into impact, policy into purpose, and sustainability into a shared responsibility.”
The ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Conclave 2025 stands as a pivotal step in galvanizing multi-stakeholder efforts to shape a greener, more equitable, and resilient India.
This landmark event brought together over 300 leaders from industry, government, academia, and civil society, reaffirming ASSOCHAM’s role in shaping a sustainable India.
