New Delhi, November 19, 2025: ASSOCHAM was honoured at the 6th National Water Awards 2024 and the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) Awards, conferred by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India.
ASSOCHAM received the ‘Best Industry Association’ recognition under the JSJB 1.0 Awards, presented by C. R. Paatil, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, on 18th November during the National Water Awards Ceremony held in New Delhi.
The JSJB 1.0 Awards serve as a premier national platform celebrating excellence in community-led water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and groundwater recharge initiatives under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan. The Awards honour States, Districts, Urban Local Bodies, Industry Associations, NGOs, and individuals for impactful contributions to groundwater augmentation, rainwater harvesting, and participatory water resource management.
ASSOCHAM’s recognition in this prestigious national initiative underscores the dedicated efforts of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Water, which continues to work closely with government, industry, and community stakeholders in advancing the JSJB initiative by leading a nationwide social media campaign, and mobilising industries across India to adopt groundwater recharge and rainwater harvesting measures. Its efforts resulted in the creation of 95+ verified recharge structures uploaded to the JSJB portal. The Council also convened a high-level Roundtable chaired by Debashree Mukherjee, Former Secretary (DoWR,RD&GR),Ministry of Jal Shakti for bringing together industry leaders and experts to develop actionable strategies for scaling community-led water conservation.
As India accelerates its mission toward a water-secure and climate-resilient future, ASSOCHAM reaffirms its steadfast commitment to Water Secure India.
