It is pertinent to mention here that the Ferozepur-Fazilka road has earned an unfortunate reputation for deadly accidents over the years. This busy stretch has witnessed several tragic crashes in the past, resulting in the loss of many lives and causing serious injuries to scores of commuters. On April 26 this year, a truck driver was charred to death near Khalchian village on the same road, while on February 11, 2025, eleven persons lost their lives and several others were injured in a major accident near Mohan Ke Uttar village. Several other serious accidents have also been reported on this stretch in recent years, raising recurring concerns over road safety.
