Chandigarh, September 24, 2026: The Department of Economics, Panjab University, has commenced the workshop and field survey for the 2026 Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) in Mohali district, with participating students receiving training in survey procedures and field-level implementation.
The PU Department has been collaborating annually with ASER for the past three years and has received positive feedback for its participation in the survey. The initiative involves students undertaking field visits to households to collect information from respondents as part of the ASER survey process.
The first training session was conducted by Prabhsimran Singh, who introduced the participating students to the ASER survey, its association with Pratham, and the procedures to be followed during field implementation.
The training covered key aspects of conducting household visits, interacting with respondents and collecting the required information. The workshop is intended to prepare students for systematic and effective implementation of the survey in the district.
