Arvind Kejriwal & Manish Sisodia pay homage at Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘samadhi’, seek strength to remain steadfast on path of satyagraha

New Delhi, April 28, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and senior leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia visited Rajghat on Tuesday and bowed at the ‘samadhi' (memorial) of Mahatma Gandhi along with party MLAs and a large number of ‘karyakartas’.
Paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, they reiterated their resolve to walk the path of satyagraha, with the AAP Chief asserting that while the party has deep respect for the judiciary, certain circumstances had compelled this course.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to 'X’ and wrote, "Today, along with Manish Sisodia and other comrades, I visited Rajghat and paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi Ji. My only prayer to Bapu is that he always gives us strength in our resolve to walk on the path of ‘satyagraha’ shown by him. I have unshakable faith that with Bapu’s blessings, we will remain firm with complete dedication on this difficult path of satyagraha."
Speaking to the media, Arvind Kejriwal said, "The matter is before the court. We have great respect for the court. We have great respect for the justice system of our country, because it is this justice system and judiciary that granted us bail and cleared us of the charges. If we are free today and moving about freely, it is because of our justice system. But certain circumstances have arisen because of which we are compelled to undertake this satyagraha. We have explained all of them in the letter written to the judge."
Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said on ‘X’, "On Tuesday, I went to Rajghat and bowed at the ‘samadhi’ of revered Bapu along with Arvind Kejriwal. Mahatma Gandhi Ji always inspired us to remain steadfast on the path of truth and to undertake satyagraha for truth with inner strength. Today, our resolve to walk on that same path has grown stronger.”
