Arunachal Pradesh Launches Vocational Training Program in Offset Printing and Book Binding

The Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has launched a transformative two-month vocational training program in offset machine operation and book binding. The initiative, inaugurated by Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (SDE) Secretary Bullo Mamu and IPR, Printing & Stationery Secretary Nyali Ete, aims to equip 35 local youths with industry-relevant skills to meet the growing demand in the printing and publishing sector. The comprehensive program covers key areas such as offset printing machine operation, pre-printing preparations, technical functions, and advanced binding and finishing techniques. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and the Department of Printing & Stationery, designed to address the skill gap identified through a recent analysis, which highlighted a shortage of trained professionals in this field among local youth.

In her inaugural address, SDE Secretary Bullo Mamu emphasized the importance of targeted skill development in today’s competitive job market. “Our skill gap analysis revealed a critical need for trained professionals in offset printing and book binding. This program is a direct response to that need, fostering employability and empowering our youth to seize opportunities both within Arunachal Pradesh and beyond,” she said. Mamu also assured continued support for trainees seeking employment opportunities.

Secretary Nyali Ete lauded the collaborative effort, stating, “This program is a significant step toward empowering our youth to build sustainable livelihoods. I urge all participants to fully engage with this opportunity and acquire skills that will pave the way for their success.” He commended both departments for their commitment to addressing local employment challenges through such initiatives.

Joint Secretary of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Sibo Passing, expressed confidence in the program’s potential to transform participants into skilled professionals ready for the job market. “This training is tailored to meet current industry demands, ensuring our youth are equipped with practical, employable skills in the rapidly growing printing and publishing sector,” he said.

The launch event was attended by key dignitaries, including IPR Director Gijum Tali, Printing & Stationery Undersecretary B Goswami, Printing & Stationery Deputy Director Heri Maring, IPR Deputy Director Marbang Ezing, and senior consultants from the Skill Development Department, Vivek Raturi and Suman Shukla. This initiative marks a significant milestone in Arunachal Pradesh’s efforts to foster skill development and create new opportunities for its youth, paving the way for a brighter, more self-reliant future.
