Arrested SPO among two husbands for brutally beating up & severely injuring their wives

Jammu, 24 June (H.S): Under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Benam Tosh, Police has arrested two husbands including one Special Police Officer (SPO) for brutally beating up & severely injuring their wives. One grievously injured woman has sustained fracture in right arm among other injuries and is admitted to GMC Jammu.

The arrested cruel husbands, who, under the influence of liquor, assaulted their own wives and grievously injured them have been identified as Ajmeer Singh s/o Jagdish Singh r/o Budhwani, Samba and Ravi Kumar (SPO) s/o Madan Lal r/o Swankha, Ramgarh.

Two separate cases : FIR No. 156/2023 and FIR No. 35/2023 have been registered at Police Station Samba and Police Station Ramgarh respectively on the written complaints of victim wives, both the cruel husbands have been arrested and investigation is underway.

Rajni Sambyal w/o Ajmeer Singh r/o Budhwani, Samba has sustained fracture in right arm among other severe injuries and is admitted to GMC Jammu due to murderous attack under the influence of liquor by none other than her own husband who is auto-driver, whereas Shalo Devi w/o Ravi Kumar (SPO) r/o Swankha, Ramgarh has sustained severe blunt injuries with lathis, kicks & blows due to assault by her own life-partner under the influence of liquor.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh has already issued directions to all SDPOs, SHOs, I/C PPs to ensure zero tolerance against crime against women and to take stringent legal action against perpetrators of domestic violence.
