Army Attachment Camp at Sikh Light Infantry Headquarters Begins with Great Zeal and Enthusiasm
An Army Attachment Camp has been inaugurated at the Sikh Light Infantry Battalion, under the guidance of Brigadier Subhanjan Chatterjee, YSM, Brigade Commander. The camp, which will continue for twelve days, aims to provide NCC cadets with first-hand exposure to the life, discipline, and functioning of the Indian Army.
Jalandhar, October 25, 2025: An Army Attachment Camp has been inaugurated at the Sikh Light Infantry Battalion, under the guidance of Brigadier Subhanjan Chatterjee, YSM, Brigade Commander. The camp, which will continue for twelve days, aims to provide NCC cadets with first-hand exposure to the life, discipline, and functioning of the Indian Army.
A total of 222 NCC cadets from 2 Punjab, 12 Punjab, 21 Punjab, and 8 Punjab Battalions, representing various educational institutions across the Doaba region are participating in this enriching training experience. The camp commenced with an inspiring opening address by Brigadier Subhanjan Chatterjee, YSM, who motivated the cadets to imbibe the core values of dedication, patriotism, and leadership that form the foundation of a soldier’s life.
During the camp, cadets will get an opportunity to visit various arms and services of the Indian Army, including the Aviation Squadron, where they will see different helicopters, as well as modern aviation equipment. They will also visit Engineering, Armoured, Rocket, and Infantry Regiments, gaining valuable insights into the operational capabilities and technological advancements of the armed forces.
Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, Jalandhar is overseeing the training of the cadets. Major Amandeep Singh, Officer-in-Charge of the camp, is supervising the coordination and management of the event, ensuring that cadets receive maximum exposure and hands-on experience throughout the training period. Four ANOs, and four JCOs and 10 NCOs are in the camp for the training of the cadets.
The camp reflects the continuous efforts of the NCC Group Headquarters, Jalandhar to inspire young cadets towards a career in the armed forces and to instill discipline, responsibility, and a spirit of national service among the youth.
