Apex Chamber of Commerce & Industry Punjab Organises ‘Risk Mitigation and Insurance Awareness’ Meet

Ludhiana, February 7, 2026: Apex chamber of commerce & industry Punjab has organised a major meeting in association with ICICI Lombard GIC on the topic of ‘Risk mitigation and Insurance Awareness’ in Hotel Aagaaz, Ludhiana.
The meeting discussed all types of insurance like General Insurance, Health Insurance, Fire Insurance, Marine Insurance and Natural Calamity Insurance, but the main focus was on industry-related insurance. Rajnish Ahuja, President of the Apex Chamber, welcomed all the members present at the meeting and also welcomed the representatives from ICICI Lombard GIC's head office Mumbai, with bouquets. Ahuja requested the insurance experts from ICICI Lombard to explain to the members in simple terms what factors to consider when purchasing insurance so that industries do not face any difficulties in claiming compensation in case of losses. The President also told them that the insurance form is 8-10 pages long and contains many complicated clauses that are difficult for an ordinary industrialist to understand. These complicated clauses are what cause problems at the time of claiming, and the industry ends up with no claim even after paying insurance premiums. Ramanjit Bhalla, Head of Commercial Line Underwriting and Claims, Customer Service, thanked the office bearers of the Apex Chamber for raising awareness about this important meeting.
He informed the members that the eight-member team has come from Mumbai includes, himself, Faiz Ahmed - Senior Vice President MSME Agency Sales, Nikhil Save - Vice President Claims, Ritesh Dogra - Deputy Vice President Underwriting Marine, Abhishek Sood - Deputy Vice President SME Agency Sales, Devottam Das - Deputy Vice President Property Risk and VAS, Yudhishter Solanki - Associate Vice President Property, Retail Underwriting, and Vikrant Goyal - Associate Vice President Claims. All the experts provided the industry with detailed information on insurance in their respective fields.
Ramanjit Bhalla told the industrialists present at the meeting that they were not there to sell insurance policies, but rather to provide them with information about insurance. Today we will not provide you with much information on medi-claim insurance. We will only provide you information on industry-related insurance, he added. He informed that ICICI Lombard started its insurance business in 2004. At that time, our company was ranked 13th. Currently, 36 private and government insurance companies are in the insurance business, and ICICI Lombard is at the number one position. He said that our company didn't reach the top position by chance; it has introduced several unique policies for the industry, which have been designed by addressing all the shortcomings of previous policies. For the MSME industry, several policies are combined and offered under a single package, so the industry doesn't have to take out different policies.  With just one policy, they get the benefits of all types of insurance policies. The industry pays lower premiums and receives greater benefits in case of claims. He said that our company has developed some policies for the industry that are not available with other insurance companies. We have incorporated new topics into the insurance sector, such as losses due to climate change, expected wars between countries (for example, the Russia-Ukraine war, US-Iran tensions, etc.). If the industry suffers losses or a decline in profits due to these reasons, the policies they offer also cover these eventualities.
The meeting also included a question and answer session during which the industrialists presented their doubts to the insurance experts, who clarified their queries and provided comprehensive information about insurance. At the end of the meeting, Rahul Ahuja, the convener of the Apex Chamber, asked the representatives of ICICI Lombard whether their local experts would review or audit the existing insurance policies of the industrialists free of charge.  In response to Rahul Ahuja's statement, the officials from Mumbai said that their local experts would provide this service free of charge to the members of the Apex Chamber, regardless of whether they purchased a policy from them or not. They gave this assurance to the Apex Chamber.
In this meeting, along with ICICI Lombard local representative Budhi Raja and local branch officials, representatives from the Apex Chamber, including Ajit Lakra, Sandeep Jain, O.P. Bassi, Jagdish Singh Kular, Amandeep Vats, Ashok Jain, and Amandeep Bassi, also had their questions answered by the insurance officials.
