Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar celebrates International Dance Day with great enthusiasm

Jalandhar, April 30, 2025: Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, celebrated International Dance Day with grandeur and zeal on Wednesday highlighting the spirit of creativity, rhythm, and cultural heritage.

The event commenced with the warm floral welcome of the Chief Guest, Indu Sharma, MD, Shiv Nritya Academy, Jalandhar and a renowned choreographer symbolizing respect and hospitality. The traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp marked an auspicious beginning, signifying the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and celebration.

A thought for the day  was shared by Aakriti Bhat of class V, capturing the essence of dance as a universal language of expression. 

Principal AK Sharma in his welcome address made the students aware of the history of International Dance Day. He said that dance is an art. It is not only a means of entertainment but also an exercise to keep the body healthy. Dance gives the right direction to our energy and also keeps our mental health in good shape. He extended heartfelt greetings to all participants and emphasized on the importance of dance in the holistic development of each.

A lively and vibrant Dance Competition among students was the highlight of the day, showcasing diverse dance forms and exceptional talent. This was followed by an informative talk on International Dance Day, shedding light on its origin, significance, and impact globally. A specially curated video presentation further enriched the audience's understanding of the day’s importance.

This event was organized as an inter-house competition in different class categories. Students from all the four houses of the school gave a very impressive dance performance on this occasion. The students showcased different dance styles. Every dance performance brought a satisfied smile on everyone's face. Everyone enjoyed the event very much.

The Chief Guest in her address to the gathering, appreciated the performances of the students and shared with students some important points related to dance which can further enhance their dancing skills. She also appreciated the school’s efforts in promoting cultural activities. 

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Vice Principal, Aarti Shorey Bhat expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the celebration. The day ended on a joyous note with the much-awaited Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of the dance competition were felicitated for their outstanding performances.

The celebration beautifully echoed the message that dance is not just an art form but a vibrant expression of life itself.
