APEEJAY CELEBRATES NATIONAL VOTER'S DAY AND 70TH REPUBLIC DAY

Jalandhar, January 25, 2019: Apeejay College of Fine Arts celebrated 70th Republic Day with zeal and zest. Addressing the occasion, Principal Dr.Sucharita remarked that youth of the nation must be aware of their democratic Republic and understand the power of their vote. Assistant Professor Simkee Dev delivered an informative speech on the importance of the National Voters' day and highlighted unraveled facts of democratic countries of the world. Students of theatre enacted a short drama exposing different social authorities and helpless of a common man. Chief attraction of the day was enactment of mock parliament debate by the students who not only assumed garb but also the gab of real life Indian politicians. The enactment aimed at revealing the hollowness of the parliamentary debates and was titled 'Radicalism defies Development?
The event concluded with taking voter's day pledge and chanting of national anthem. Principal Dr Sucharita appreciated the efforts of Mr. Vishav Bandhu Verma, Head, Department of History for organizing the mock parliamentary debates.
