Ludhiana: Gurmeet Singh Kular, Incharge, Shiromani Akali Dal Halka Atam Nagar strongly opposed the Anti Farmer Bills passed by the Centre Government, and demanded immediate rollback.

In a statement here today, he said that the Lok Sabha has passed contentious farmer bills on September 17. The government argued that these measures will free farmers from the existing government-controlled markets. But reality is that these bills would pave the way for the dismantling of the minimum support price (MSP) system and leave the farming community at the “mercy” of big corporates. Hundreds of farmers in India are protesting against these agricultural bills.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder with our farmers in these critical times”, he said, and demanded that government should immediately reverse the decision and save our farmers.
