Anti-crackers awareness rally held by Shemrock School students
Mohali, October 25, 2019: Students of Semrock Senior Secondary School, sec 69 organised an anti-cracker rally & pledged to protect the environment by abstaining from their use during the festival season. Around 90 NCC cadets and students participated in the rally. With the help of slogans and banners the message was conveyed to the residents, to celebrate a cracker-free Divali and join hands to reduce pollution. The students, carrying banners & placards like “Say no to crackers”, “crackers are environmental abuse” with thought-provoking slogans to create awareness among the public, went through the market and residential area. Students also conducted an interactive session with the public warning them about the havoc done to our mother Earth and the ill effects faced by the humanity at large. A talk on "Noise pollution and fire crackers" was also organised in the school earlier. School Principal Prineet Sohal guided the students about threats and perils of crackers and the effects of noise pollution. School walls were decorated with anti-cracker slogans like “A Diwali full of noise, can give you a life of darkness” and “Forsake crackers, embrace safety”.
