Annual Exhibition “Students’ Showcase” begins at DLC SUPVA, Rohtak

The Students’ Showcase; Annual Art Exhibition kick started in DLC SUPVA today with great enthusiasm and fervor. The exhibition is organized by the Faculty of Visual Arts every year to display and promote the art products developed by the students, which they work on round the year.

Rohtak, May 9, 2025. The Students’ Showcase; Annual Art Exhibition kick started in DLC SUPVA today with great enthusiasm and fervor. The exhibition is organized by the Faculty of Visual Arts every year to display and promote the art products developed by the students, which they work on round the year.

The four-day exhibition was inaugurated by Prof HK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor, Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, DLC SUPVA Prof. Shree Prakash, Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik, Vinay Kumar, Head, Faculty of Visual Arts and senior officials and faculty members of the varsity.

More than 1000 artworks by over 300 students are on display. Important categories of the art displayed include applied arts campaigns based on awareness, social messaging, illustrations, advertisements, oil painting, acrylic painting, installation art, site specific arts, clay and fiber art sculptures, photography, sketching, clay modeling, and still life and miniature paintings, etc. Augmented reality and virtual reality based paintings are also being showcased.

VC Prof Shree Prakash visited the stalls put up by the students and praised the team-effort and emphasized on the importance of the exhibition. “The Faculty of Visual Arts, through Students' Showcase, is doing the crucial job of presenting the great work done by the students and encouraging them to excel in the field of art. Our students have done a fantastic job of creating such heartwarming artifacts.”, He said.

The Chief Guest Prof HK Aggarwal also interacted with the artist-students to great lengths, understanding the nuances and foundation of the displayed artwork. He advised the young artists to try preserving the soul of their art. Artists must have enhanced perception alongside enhanced skills. Such exhibitions provide a sound opportunity for the artists to hone their skills and expand horizons of their imagination.”

Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik also encouraged the students. She said that it is a matter of great delight to see young artists creating such mature and insightful paintings. This art is a true reflection of the talent and the creative spirit of the youth of DLC SUPVA. HOD Vinay Kumar, shared, “The art developed by our students is at par with professional standards. We are also striving to provide industry interface to the students. There is a lot of demand for the visual artists in the market, especially in the media, entertainment and advertising industry.”

The exhibition shall continue till 12th May, 2025, and is also open to the general public. Dean Academic Affairs Dr Ajay Kaushik, Director IT Dr Sima, faculty members Ajay Yadav and Vishwajit Singh were present on the occasion.
