Annual Convocation 2026 held at DMC&H

Ludhiana, September 10, 2026: DMC&H conducted its prestigious Annual Convocation Ceremony today for the MBBS admission Batch of 2020, conferring 100 MBBS degrees, 77 certificates and 14 medals to its outstanding graduates and students.
Chief Guest for the event was Dr. K. R. Balakrishnan, Chairman Cardiac Sciences & Director Heart & Lung Transplant MGM Healthcare, Chennai and Dr Sulena, Professor & Head of Neurology, GGS Medical College & Hospital, Faridkot was the university nominee.
President DMC&H Managing Society, Sunil Kant Munjal; Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Bipin Gupta; Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society, Mukesh Verma; Principal, Dr G S Wander; Dean Academics, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medical Superintendents. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Chief Cardiologist cum co-ordinator HDHI, Dr Bishav Mohan, Dr Ashima Tanjea, Addl. Medical Superintendent and Dr Sarju Ralhan, Medical Superintendent, HDHI also graced the event.
The convocation started with an impressive academic procession.
Dr P L Gautam, Professor & Head Department of Critical Care Medicine & Dr Eshani Dewan, Associate Professor of Microbiology DMC&H introduced the chief guest to the audience and congratulated fresh young medical graduates.
In his welcome address, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society welcomed the chief guest, audience and all the students along with their parents for a successful career ahead and congratulated the students to prove their ability in the field of patient care and bring laurels to DMC&H. He advised them to be ‘First and foremost be a good human being then become good doctor.’
Sunil Kant Munjal, President, DMC&H Managing Society, congratulated the graduating students and their parents and advised not strive merely to become academically accomplished; strive to become a good human being. Stay curious, keep learning, and never stop growing. True success lies not only in what you achieve, but in the kind of person you become. Chase knowledge and money will chase you automatically. At DMC&H we hope to be your support for life and wish that the values and knowledge gained here continue to guide you throughout journey.
Principal, Dr G S Wander, expressed pride in the achievements of the graduates and read ‘Annual College Report’. In his report, Dr. Wander outlined the institution's notable accomplishments and emphasized DMC&H's commitment to excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare services.
Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, introduced the graduating students and prize winners to the audience. He also administered a Hippocratic oath to the graduating students, encouraging them to uphold the values and responsibilities of the medical profession.
In his key note address, Dr. K. R. Balakrishnan highlighted that Knowledge is endless and learning should never stop. Keep seeking knowledge, keep exploring new ideas, and always remain open to learning from others. Interact with your fellow students, teachers and people from different walks of life, because every interaction brings an opportunity to learn something new. Do not strive only to become academically or professionally successful; strive to become a good human being first. When you chase knowledge, excellence and humanity, success and money will follow automatically.
Dr Divij Matta was awarded College Colour Award for cultural activities and Dr. Akshay Kumar received College Colour Award for Sports. Best All Rounder Award was  presented to Dr. Harjas Singh Sahota, who was also adjusted ‘Best Graduate’ and Second Best Graduate was ‘Dr Abhay Takiar’.
Vote of thanks were proposed by Dr Jaspriya Sandhu, Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology, DMC&H.
