Chandigarh, February 24, 2014: Anil Joshi, Medical Education and Research Minister, Punjab has appealed the Union Government not to extend the MBBS course duration from 5 years to 7 years. In a letter to the Union Government Joshi has asked the authorities to consider all the relating issues pertaining to students before taking such a decision. He apprehended that the extension of course duration could diminish the enthusiasm of the students in Medical profession.

Joshi expressed fear that the students could lose charm for the noble medical profession.
