Angad Dutta Assumes Charge as District President of Youth Congress Jalandhar Urban for the Second Consecutive Term

In a show of unity and enthusiasm, around 1,000 Youth Congress workers and supporters gathered at Congress Bhawan, Jalandhar, where the newly elected office bearers of Youth Congress Jalandhar Urban formally assumed charge under the leadership of Rajinder Beri, President, District Congress Committee (Urban), Jalandhar and Former MLA.

Jalandhar, June 28, 2026: In a show of unity and enthusiasm, around 1,000 Youth Congress workers and supporters gathered at Congress Bhawan, Jalandhar, where the newly elected office bearers of Youth Congress Jalandhar Urban formally assumed charge under the leadership of Rajinder Beri, President, District Congress Committee (Urban), Jalandhar and Former MLA.
The programme witnessed an overwhelming response from Youth Congress workers, who congratulated the newly elected leadership and pledged to strengthen the organisation across Jalandhar.
Angad Dutta, who was recently re-elected as District President, Youth Congress Jalandhar Urban with an overwhelming mandate of 4,845 votes, officially assumed charge for his second consecutive term.
The newly elected office bearers who assumed charge are:

•    Rahul Gambhir – Assembly President
•    Ranvir Arora – Assembly President
•    Vasu Bhutani – Block President, Jalandhar Cantt
The ceremony was attended by Rajinder Beri, President, District Congress Committee (Urban) and Former MLA, along with senior Congress leaders Manu Suri, Dhaminder Singh Binda, and Bhupinder Singh Binda. Addressing the gathering, Rajinder Beri congratulated the newly elected team and urged them to continue working at the grassroots level to strengthen the Congress Party and serve the people of Jalandhar.
Speaking on the occasion, Angad Dutta thanked every Youth Congress member, worker and supporter for once again placing their trust in him. He said that this victory belongs to every dedicated Congress worker who stood by the organisation and worked tirelessly during the election.
Angad Dutta dedicated his victory and his second consecutive term as District President to his late father, Anil Dutta, a respected Congress leader who devoted more than three decades of his life to the Congress Party. Shri Anil Dutta began his political journey in 1976 as Block Youth Congress President and later served as District Youth Congress President, General Secretary of Punjab Youth Congress, Organising Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), Vice-Chairman of a Government Corporation, and Managing Director of Jalandhar Central Cooperative Bank. His lifelong dedication to public service and unwavering commitment to the Congress ideology continue to inspire generations of Congress workers.
Addressing the gathering, Angad Dutta said, "Being elected District President of Youth Congress Jalandhar Urban for the second consecutive time is both an honour and a greater responsibility. I dedicate this victory to my late father, Shri Anil Dutta ji, whose ideals, sacrifices and commitment to the Congress Party continue to inspire me every day. The programme concluded with loud slogans in support of the Congress Party and Youth Congress, as nearly 1,000 workers reaffirmed their commitment to work unitedly under the leadership of Angad Dutta and the guidance of senior Congress leadership to further strengthen the organisation across Jalandhar.
