Dharamshala, May 9, 2024: In a significant political move, Anand Sharma, representing the Congress party, officially filed his nomination for the Kangra-Chamba Parliamentary Constituency. 

The event, held in Dharamshala, was marked by the presence of notable political figures including Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, and Congress Party Incharge Rajeev Shukla.

During a rally at Jorawar Stadium in Sidhbari, Dharamsala, Anand Sharma addressed the gathering, underscoring his dedication to the constituency's advancement on a national platform. He promised to exploit every available avenue to foster development in the region. Sharma also discussed his ongoing consultations with local MLAs, ministers, and community members aimed at crafting a detailed development roadmap and manifesto that aligns with both the local needs and the broader objectives of the Congress party.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri expressed their appreciation for the strong representation Sharma is poised to provide. They highlighted his potential to bring substantial development benefits to the area.

Rajeev Shukla, the Party Incharge, praised Sharma’s extensive political and governmental experience, referring to his previous influential roles as a central minister and his active involvement in the NSUI and Youth Congress. This background, Shukla noted, equips Sharma exceptionally well to handle the challenges and responsibilities of representing Kangra-Chamba in Parliament.

The BJP candidate for the area Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj shall file his nomination tomorrow. The sitting MP Kishan Kapoor also BJP won last time from here with a record margin.14 th May is the last date to file nominations.
The voting shall be conducted on 1st June and result on 4th June.
