Amritsar Municipal Town Planner Des Raj suspended on corruption charges

Chandigarh, October 17, 2013: The Punjab Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi today suspended Amritsar Municipal Town Planner Des Raj on the charges of corruption. While disclosing this here today Anil Joshi, Local Bodies Minister, Punjab said that A.K. Kansal, Chief Vigilance Officer has been deputed as an inquiry officer for in depth investigation.
Joshi said that this officer has been suspended on the complaint of demanding bribe for supplying NOC of the registry of the houses The Minister said that he has also received another complaint against Devinder Singh Toor, EO and the inquiry for this case has also been marked to A.K. Kansal and report has been sought within 15 days.
The Minister further said that he had also received complaints regarding sub standard quality of construction of Sewerage Treatment Plant, at Mansa. The Minister said that V.K. Bhatt and Amardeep Singh Dhaliwal, Chief Engineers have been deputed as inquiry officers in this case. Joshi has sought report personally within 15 days.
The Minister reiterated that corruption and indiscipline would not be tolerated at any cost and the guilty officers and employees would be not spaced at any cost. www.cityairnews.com
