Amrinder shielding Bargari culprits the way Cong protected leaders involved in 1984 anti-Sikh riots: Chugh
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh.

Chandigarh: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today warned Punjab chief Minister Amrinder Singh against making political capital out of the  incidents of  sacrilege of  Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

In a statement Chugh said the newly constituted SIT  in the Behbal Kalan has been giving all indications that the Amarinder Singh government is just buying time and has been evading to punish the guilty.

He said the present SIT is  repeating all that had been done by the last SIT. He said it was a shame for the Amarinder government for failing to take action against the culprits even after four and a half years.

Chugh said the chief minister has been playing a double game and has been trying to play with the religious sentiments of the people for political reasons.  Chugh said the chief minister was shielding the sacrilege accused the way Congress protected party leaders involved in 1984 ant-Sikh riots.

Chugh said by calling people as witness after their statements had been already recorded the SIT was making mockery of the entire investigation at the behest of the chief minister.

He said the chief minister was fomenting religious sentiments for future political gains and the BJP would expose his nefarious designs.
