Today, when the world is celebrating the international yoga day with full enthusiasm and joy, Amity University Uttar Pradesh G B Nagar celebrated this special day as a day of commitment toward society and the nation.

Amity University Uttar Pradesh, G B Nagar under the leadership of Founder President Dr. Ashok K Chauhan and Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, Director General Prof (Dr.) Ajay Rana celebrated “Yoga for Humanity: Pure Soul” on International Yoga Day at its Campus situated in Knowledge Park in a grand manner.   
  
The celebration starts with national flag hoisting followed by a beautiful Yoga Session monitored by Certified Yoga Trainer. Yoga Acharya conducted session of different Yoga Asanas and Surya Namaskar. More than 200 faculties, staff, and students attended this session.  
 
After the Yoga session, a guided meditation session was conducted by Dr. Harpreet A De Singh, Executive director of Air India, also, the first female pilot of Air India.She has been awarded by Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Excellence Award for “Outstanding Personal achievement and Distinguished services to the nation.” Dr. Harpreet congratulated all attendees and explained the importance of Yoga in our lives. She explained different kinds of yoga and conducted very mindful meditation sessions.  The session was very interactive.  
  
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Rana, Director General, Amity University welcomed the Chief Guest and all participants all on behalf of Founder President Amity Education Group Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, and Chancellor Amity Universities Dr. Atul Chauhan and congratulated all on the International Yoga Day. Dr. Rana mentioned the vision of the Prime Minister of India for proposing this International Yoga Day and said that Yoga connects the human mind to its soul. He added that when the almighty push someone for an assignment, it always gives positive results.  
 
DG (SD&VT) Lt Gen Jatinder Sikand in his address, thanked Dr. Harpreet A De Singh for her valuable time and physical presence in spite of her very busy schedule.
 
Vice President & Registrar, A K Choudhary, Dean Brig HS Dhanny, Prof. J S Jassi, many HOIs, and hundreds of faculties, staff, and students were present in both the sessions of International Yoga Day.
